Tourism: Prince Charles will promote tourism in the Carpathians
The minister of regional development and tourism Eduard Hellvig stated on Friday in a press conference organised in Targu Mures that the government draws up a strategy together with the Royal House of Great Britain, more exactly with the representatives of Prince Charles for the promotion of tourism in the Carpathians. Minister Eduard Hellvig stated that at the level of the general secretary of the government (SGG) there is a technical secretary who coordinates a strategy for the development of tourism in the Carpathians, existing discussion, last week with the adviser of Prince Charles at the headquarters of the ministry of development according to Mediafax.
The minister said that the partnership aims at the promotion of the Carpathians and discreet projects.
“This partnership ( with the Royal House of Great Britain) depends on the drawing up of a coherent strategy for the promotion of the Carpathians, on the one hand, and on the other hand of the initiation of discreet projects, from culinary festivals to the promotion of touristic regions in the rural area, from ensuring financing on tourism infrastructure – road rehabilitation – infrastructure within the respective regions. Thus, it is a set of measures which should ensure the development of the regions and the things we want to promote at the level of the 21st century. We don’t have to reinvent anything, we have to use what we have and to develop it at the level of the 21st century. The strategy has started, there has already been a discussion among experts this week, we were informed that they have started to work on the documents”, he said.
Hellvig showed that it is possible that he should meet Prince Charles in person, for discussions for this summer.
“As far as I know from the discussions with the adviser of Prince Charles, in July he will come to visit Romania on a private visit, we will agree, if it is possible and if there is time, to meet. If not, the collaboration will exist with the foundation that Prince Charles set up and with his adviser who is permanently in Romania and collaborates with the local authorities”, the minister said.
