Works started at the first photo-voltaic park in Ialomita county
The starting point for the first investment in Ialomita county in a solar energy park for the production of renewable energy which will have 32,000 solar panels, was given by the Gigawatt Global Romania in Giurgeni. In the Giurgeni area, the Ialomita county council drew up a Urban Area Plan (PUZ) for the development of two investments in photo-voltaic parks on a surface of 30 ha. The first investment, estimated at 15 million euro, belongs to Gigawatt Global who got a concession of 24 ha in land.
The park will be made up of approximately 32,000 solar panels, of 250 W per panel, 16 units of 500 KW each, and the power will be of 8 MW, energy to be " instilled " in the national electricity grid.The deadline for the production is of 6 months.
The second investment belongs to the Ialomita county council on a surface of 6 ha, with financing from own sources. This park will have 2. MW, with four stages of development, this year starting the construction of the first module of 0.5MW. The project of the county council, which is estimated to be finalised after one year, will ensure the electricity both for the CJ and the subordinated institutions, as well as for the Giurgeni, Gura Ialomitei and Mihail Kogalniceanu localities.
Investment at national level for 2012 in photo-voltaic parks are estimated at 200 million euro, with parks under construction of approximately 250 MW, and in Ialomita there are already parks with power of 32 MW approved to start development, out of which 10 MW developed by the county council or their partners.
