CEZ: the wind energy park of 600 MW from Fantanele-Cogealac will be finalized by the end of the year
Among the big projects advanced in Romania there is that of the CEZ group which invests 1.1 billion euro in the development of a big wind energy park on land in Europe, with total installed power of 600 MW. The CEZ wind park from Fantanele si Cogealac will be in full operation by the end of the year, the general manager of CEZ Grade Ion Lungu stated at the Mediafax conference on Talks About Energy. According to him,there are already operating 387.5 MW.
Ion Lungu has also said that CEZ intends to make new investments in renewable energy, planning the development of 3,000 MW in Romania, Poland and Germany.
In 2012, there will be put in operation new wind parks with total installed capacity of almost 1,000 MW, as at the end of 2011 there were installed 982 MW, Ionel David stated, as public affairs manager at Asociatia Romana pentru energie eoliana –RWEA(Romanian Wind Energy Association). According to him in 2013 there will reach an installed capacity of 3,286 MW and by 2016 at 5,000 MW. For the comparison, Hidroelectrica has a total installed capacity of almost 6,500 MW.
