Trade: Retail dropping in first 8 months
The business figure of retail trade, except for car sales, dropped in the first eight months, compared to the same period of last year, according to the number of working days and season, by 0.8%, according to INS. The evolution was influenced by the drop of retail trade for motor vehicle fuel in specialized shops (bu 5.7%) and the sale of food, beverages and tobacco (by 0.4%). Increases were recorded for sales of non food products (2.1%), according to an INS release.
In August, compared to the previous months, business from retail trade, except for the trade with cars and motorcycles grew by 2.6%. Compared to August 2012, the gross indicator is 1.4% smaller.
