The new system of air traffic management in Romania will cost approximately 26 million euro
The contract signed by the Romanian Administration of Air Traffic (ROMATSA) with the Spaniards from Indra which refers to the delivery of a new system for air traffic management has an approximate value of 26 million euro.
The first phase of the project will last until February 2015 and the second phase will end in November the same year, the representatives of ROMATSA announced at the request of MEDIAFAX.The contract will be financed from own resources, and the selection method was public internatilnal open bid, according to the quoted sources.
The agreement was signed by the general manager of ROMATSA Aleodor Francu and Rafael Gallego, vicechairman of Indra.The system will be implemented at the Regional centre of Air Traffic Control in Bucharest and other four units close by, as well as at other 15 control towers.
Being under the authority of the ministry of transport ROMATSA was set up in 1991 and operates in the domain of air traffic services, offered to civil aircraft which fly over the air space of Romania.
The Indra company offers consultancy services and technology in different domains, among which transports, energy, industry, public administration or health.
