Cars: Ferrari, Lamborghini or Porsche, on the Romanians’ list of favourits, during the first five months of 2016
Expensive cars such as Ferrari, Lamborghini or Porsche are on the list of favourites of the Romanian drivers, in the first five months of this year, says the statistics of the DRPCIV. ( the department for driving licences and registration of vehicles).
According to the data, in the interval January – May 2016 the Smart brand had 783 units both new and second hand up by 11.38% against the first five months of the previous year. From the total, 149 units were among the newly registered ones.
At the same time, the Romanians registered 113 Jaguar, more by 43% against January – May 2015 out of which 71 second hand. At the same time, 282 Porsche (204 second hand) and 9 Maserati, out of which 6 new ones.
For luxury cars, in the first five months of the year, six Ferrari ( up by 20% against the similar period of 2015) two Lamborghini and a Lotus second hand.
The DRPCIV statistics shows that, at general level, the number of new cars for May grew by 12.5 % up to 9,872 units, against the same period of 2015, the most important share being that of cars with 6,345 units. Dacia is the preferred make by the Romanian drivers, with 1,502 units, but dropping by 18,31% as compared to May 2015. The following places are occupied by Skoda – 719 units (+5,27) Volkswagen — with 580 de units (+11,97%) and Ford — with 525 de units (+44,63%).
The most reduced frequency of registrations was in May 2016 for Subaru (7 units), Maserati (3), Bentley, DS and Mercedes-AMG (2 ), respectively Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Infiniti and SsangYong (one each).
According to DRPCIV the national auto fleet in Romania had, at the end of 2015 approximately 6.6million units, up by 5.27% against the similar period of the previous year, when there were 6.27 million units.
Out of the total of vehicles which crossed the national roads at the end of last year, approximately 5.15 million units were cars, up by 5.04% as compared to 2014 when there were 4.9 million cars.
At the level of Buchrest, there were at the end of December 1.19 million vehicles, out of which 956.664 units considered cars.
As for age, almost 2.56 million cars were older than 12 years, dropping by 12.31% as compared to the same period of 2014. Similarly, approximately 1.89 million vehicles in the national fleet were between 6-10 years old while 1.76million units were between 11-15 years old. At the same time, approximately 1.20 million cars were older than 20 years old.
At the same time, out of total of 5.15 million cars registered in Romania, 302,054 units were 0-2 years old, more by 52.7% against the data published at the end of 2014 when there were 197,741 units. Moreover, at general level, 3.484 million Romanians preferred Diesel cars and 2,760million gasoline ones.
