Lukoil to keep, develop Romanian refining activities

Romania Lukoil will keep on and will develop its refining activities in Romania, in spite of the ‘difficult international context', said Lukoil CEO Vagit Alekperov, who spoke to Romanian President Traian Basescu at the presidential Cotroceni Palace on Wednesday.During the meeting, Alekperov informed Basescu about the activity that Lukoil is conducting in Romania and the company's future plans, the President's Office said in a release.

Lukoil chief also spoke of the difficult international context facing the companies in the oil sector, but he pointed out that Lukoil will keep on and develop its refining activities in Romania. Alekperov stressed the company keeps its major interest both with respect to exploring the two sites that Lukoil has under concession in the Black Sea and to the sites to be put to tender by the Romanian authorities in the future, the release added.

The Romanian president thanked Lukoil chairman for having informed him of the company's activities in Romania and he underscored that any investment in Romania is welcome and wished the company success in the projects it will further develop.
