Hidroelectrica will sell 88 small hydro power plants, starting June 2013

Hidroelectrica has launched the first stage of the selling process of 88 small hydro power plants (CHEMP), via public tender, according to a release of the company on Tuesday.The selling process will be carried out in three stages, starting June 201, procedures following to observe the provisions of the ‘Strategy in the CHEMPs field' approved by Decision of General Assembly of Shareholders of March 13, 2013.

The judicial manager of Hidroelectrica company, Remus Borza, on May 10 stated that he hoped to attract 150-200 million euros from selling these units.‘Another 200-250 people will leave as following the sale of the 150 micro-plants, but they will not be sent into unemployment remaining employees at the companies to buy the plants', said Borza.

In the first quarter of 2013, Hidroelectrica posted 144 million lei in profit compared with losses worthy 136 million in the first quarter of 2012. The company estimated 434 million lei in the 2013 profit.

According to data recently provided by the company, in April 2013, Hidroelectrica recorded a production of energy delivered of 1.621 million MWh, by 282,000 MWh more compared with April 2012 and by 100,000 MWh more compared with the monthly average in the latest 17 years.
