Vintest 2013 - Romanian Wines and Tourism Show on June 6-9
The Romanian National Wine Exhibition - Vintest 2013 is organized at the Bucharest-based Palace Hall, on June 6-9, and it is devoted to the Romanian wines and the wine and vineyard tourism.
According to the organizers, visitors can spot on the map any wine cellar exhibiting in the Show and may test their wines and get information about their tourism offer.
Announcing their presence in the event, so far, are Oprisor Wine Cellar , WINE RO CELLAR, the Anastasia Domains, Agrofam Holding Fetesti, Intervitt Zimnicea, the Samburesti Domains, the Dealu Mare Urlati Vineyards, the Pietroasa Viticulture and Enology Research and Development Station (SCDVV), the Budureasca and the Sara Domains, Scharfenberger Gmbh O.KG, Transilvania Bois.
The visitors can win a bottle of wine, every hour, and the grad prix is a trip for two, along the Romanian Vineyards Route awarded by Wine Bar 1000 Chips.
The 2013 Vintest edition is the third, and it is organized on the special occasion of the 36th edition of the Congress of the International Organization of Vine and Wines (OIV), to be organized in Romania through the National Office of Vineyards and Winery products, an institution subordinated to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The Congress is due at the Parliament Palace, in Bucharest, on June 2-7.
Romania also staged the event in 1968
'Vineyard and Wine - Between Tradition and Modernity' is the topic to be approached during the Congress and the OIV General Assembly, where delegations from 44 countries are expected to attend. The participants will tackle topics such as the developments in the present viticulture and enology, with an emphasis on the preservation of the traditions worldwide. The Congress has several sections namely viticulture, enology, economy, law, safety and health.
During the Congress will be elected the OIV general director, the candidacies to run for the post being from Germany and France. Federico Castellucci, from Italy has been the OIV director since 2004.
Romania joined th International Vines and Wine Organization, in 1927.
Romania ranks the 10th in the world and the 5th in Europe in terms of vineyard surface.
During the past five years, the Romanian Winery sector has fully accessed EU funds through the Support Programme for the Wine Sector (42.1 million euros per year), the most visible effect being the replanting of 19,7666 ha of vines. The Programme will continue over 2014-2018.
