Trade: Romanian consumer durables market goes up 4 pct, attaining 349M euros, in Q1
The Romanian durable goods market goes up 4 percent, attaining 349 million euros, in the first quarter of 2013, compared to the same time span of the last year, informs study conducted by GfK TEMAX Romania.
Except the big household and electronic appliances market, all the sectors GfK TEMAX Romania was monitoring, scored positive growth rates, with the IT remaining the top sector preserving a relatively sale value, and IT remaining the top one constantly scoring 105 million euros, following a 0.9 percent growth vs. that of the Q1 last year.
The telecom sector witnessed the highest growth, namely 18.2 percent, thanks to smartphones.
According to the GfK study the electronics market dropped by 2.3 percent, in Q1, while that of the white household appliances increased by 2.1 percent, the sector having witnessed a descending trend, since last year.
GfK Temax is an index used by GfK Retail and Technology to monitor the durable goods market. The results rely on the surveys regularly conducted on the GfK Retail panel, which stores and supplies data provided by over 390,000 sale points, worldwide. Starting Feb 2009, GfK Retail and Technology calculates the GfK TEMAX index worldwide, in over 30 countries. This is the first index including all consumer durable markets of several countries.
