The spa market in Romania worth 6.5 ml euros in 2013 (study)
The overall turnover of spa facilities in Romania reached up to approximately 6.5 million euros in 2013, representing a 5 per cent increase in 2012, according to a study published by despreSpa.ro.
According to the research, in 2013, 124,000 Romanians and 26,000 foreigners went for relaxation services in Romania.
Subscriptions to gyms or swimming pools and other therapies that are also considered as relaxation services (like anti cellulite massages, weight loss or beauty treatments) were left outside the 6.5 million euros.
The study showed that the average price for a relaxation treatment in Romania is 150 lei.
'The year 2014 began unexpectedly well, given that despreSpa.ro appear to function like a bridge connecting the two sectors that might give birth to large-scale collaborations - the spa and balneology sectors -, a new concept in which we really believe: BalneoSPA,' said Ioana Mariana, founder and general manager of despreSpa.ro.
