The new Office goes only on computers with Windows 7 and 8 not the old ones with XP or Vista.
Microsoft says that “the new office” as they like to call it in the 2013 edition is completely different from the previous variants, by the optimisation for tactile screens, by the number of devices which could be used and the extensive services of cloud-computing.
Microsoft encourages the users to buy the variant called Office 365 Home Premium which contains Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote2, Publisher2,Access 2 and can be installed on five different devices, either PCs or tablets with Windows or Macs. The storage space in Sky Drive is 27 GB ( instead of 7 GB) and there are included 60 minutes of international calls on Skype for each month. The annual subscription for this variant is 449 lei.
For those who want the classic variant of Office which could be found on the home computer without a subscription Office 2013 Home and School is 629 lei and has Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.
We must mention that the prices presented are the ones recommended by the company but in retail they could be lower.
At for new things, Microsoft insisted on the fact that Office keeps with time, being optimised for tactile screens, the buttons being big and with the possibility to slide on the screen to add images, videoclips and online content in documents.
The company says that the Interface is improved for the limitation of attention distraction and the new Office is integrated with the social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
Microsoft is very confident in connection with Office 2013 and hopes that the productivity suite will boost sales for Windows 8, especially as it cannot be used on older devices with XP and Vista. Moreover, the company hopes that Office with licence comes with more characteristics than the productivity suites which could be found on the internet for free.
