Telecom : Fixed and mobile phone suppliers compelled to allow access to their infrastructure
Fixed and mobile phone suppliers with significant power in the local market will have to allow access for the use of specific elements of the associated network and infrastructure and apply, as of May 1,2019, equivalent interconnection conditions to all persons requesting or benefiting from interconnection, according to an ANCOM decision draft, submitted to public debate on the institution website.
According to the source, the 36 fixed telephone and five mobile phone suppliers will have make publicv, until March 1,2019, information referring to conditions in which they offer this kind of services. They will also have to allow access and use of specific elements of associated network and infrastructure and apply equivalent interconnection conditions in equivalent interconnection circumstances to all persons requesting or benefiting from interconnection, as of May 1, 2019.
ANCOM points out that they set up a joint work group with representatives of industry in the field of electronic communications and specialists in modern IP technology research and evaluated opinions of 20 fixed and mobile electronic communications representative at market level, in order to collect and analyse data needed to identify technical data harmonized at national level, applicable to future IP connections.
