Ministry of Health wants to finalize, by June 30, the National public health strategy

The Government has approved a memorandum prepared by the Ministry of Health, proposing that, by June 30, a National public health strategy has to be worked out, the Executive informs in a press release.

In this process of evaluation and redesign of the national public health system, all social and administrative components will be involved, with direct responsibilities in the management, organization and the care system's operation, the quoted source stressed.

Among the specific objectives, set to be considered, there are the implementation of the concept 'health in all public policies', a performance management of the health system, increased access of the population to the basic health services, improvement of funding the health system and increased efficiency in the use of allocated funds.

As well, it aims at training of the medical staff and maintaining it into the system through an adequate pay scheme, redefinition of the national health programs and their management, development of an integrated emergency system and its training for situations of natural disasters and other calamities.
