Logan sales in Russia dropped by 28% in 2012
Logan sales in Russia dropped last year by 28% to 58,732 units and in December a decline of 43% to 3810 units, the car ranking 11th in 2012 among the best sold 25 models.Sandero, ranking 16th registered last year sales rising by 6% to 48,632 units, but there was a decline of 21% in December, to 4104 units, according to data published by the Commission of Auto Builders of the Association of European Companies in the Russian Federation.
Last year Renault sold in Russia 47,344 Duster cars, while in December it sold 6659 units, on the rise from 40 units in December 2011, when it was launched in the market, Duster ranked 17th of the best sold 25 models in Russia in 2012.
Renault owns Avtoframos works in the vicinity of Moscow, where it manufactures Logan, Sandero and Duster models. Last year the group sold 189,852 cars in Russia, on the rise by 23%. In December Renault deliveries went up by 17% to 17,242 units. A rise of 11% of car sales to 2,935,111 units took place in the Russian market, while in December the rise was of only 1% to 253,158 units.
According to the Commission of Car Builders the car market in Russia might stagnate in 2013, because of a slow economic rhythm, after having registered an increase of over 10% in the last four years.
