Infrastructure: German ambassador: Suceava needs a highway to the west
Hans Werner Lauk, the German ambassador to Bucharest declared in Suceava recently that the development of the area needs transport infrastructure connecting Suceava to the central European network, attracting investors, Mediafax informs.
The ambassador added that the area should be connected by highway both to corridor IX north-south which links the Baltic and Black Seas, as well as to the one connecting the east to the west.
“Both aspects must be taken into account. Being connected to the central European highway network is of great importance from the German point of view,” Lauk said.
He pointed out that a good infrastructure is important for the economic development of the area.
“A good transport infrastructure is important, for the economic development of an area. The link with the west is very important to us. For Germany companies must have easy access from west to east,” the German ambassador added hen he met the chairman of Suceava County Council, Catalin Nechifor and Suceava prefect Florin Sinescu. The latter presented him the potential of the area and existing projects as well as joint programs carried out with the Bavarian area of Schwaben.
