Infrastructure: 122 million lei contract to modernize railway bridges over the Danube

CFR signed a contract of 122.6 million lei without VAT with the association Arcada Company-Metbet- Compania Constructii Feroviare for the repair of railway bridges over the Danube in 23 months.

“The date of the beginning of works will not exceed 42 days since the date when the contractor receives the accord,” says a press release of the railway administrator.

Traffic will be alternatively closed for the repair of the two bridges and access viaducts. The old bridges (Anghel Saligny) will be used during works on the new bridges.

The associations Arcada Company-Metabet- Compania Constructii Feroviare, Strabag-Tancrad, Azvi-Straco Group and Consinit Company made offers for the tender organized in February for the contract “Rehabilitation works for railway bridges over the Danube - km 152+149 and km 165+817, the Bucharest-Constanta line.”

The contract was attributed to the lowest price and it will be financed from European grants (85%) and money from the state budget (15%).
