Cars: Sales of Volkswagen in Romania dropped by 30.6% in September
The sales of Volkswagen dropped in Romania by 30.6% in September, when the scandal of the emissions manipulation devices which equipped the cars broke out, against August, the German make dropping three places, from the second position in the top of the cars delivery.
Thus, in Romania there were sold 716 units of Volkswagen in September and 6,939 since the beginning of the year.
The other make in the Volkswagen group present in the top ten on the Romanian market (Skoda) had in September increased sales by 25.7% with 762 deliveries which got the constructor the second place in the make ranking after Dacia and Volkswagen, according to the APIA data.
The Volkswagen brand has a model in the top of the best sold ten cars in Romania – Golf, whose delivery dropped in September against August by 33.3% at 233.
In September, there broke out the scandal of the diesel cars equipped with devices to manipulate emissions, the group announcing that 11 million cars were equipped with such soflware and they will be brought back to service to solve the situation.
In Romania, the Registrul Auto Roman announced on Thursday that they received from the Volkswagen office in Romania until now lists with over 50,000 vehicles belonging to Audi, Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen for commercialisation on a local level equipped with such devices out of the over 100,000 investigated by the authorities.
