Ambassador Brummel: Companies in the UK should focus on the infrastructure sector in Romania
Companies in the manufacturing sector wanting to invest identify infrastructure as one of the challenges Romania must overcome, UK Ambassador in Bucharest Paul Brummell told a conference on investment opportunities.
According to Brummell, companies in the UK should focus on the infrastructure sector in Romania. There are high amounts of money available in terms of European funds 2014-2020. Nine billion euros are for the projects on large infrastructure. The ambassador says the UK encourages the Romanian Government to focus on prioritising the needs of infrastructure, as many companies in the manufacturing sector of Romania or companies wanting to invest in this sector will note the relatively weak infrastructure.
He pointed out that the infrastructure development is the key in regards to business opportunities and also mentioned that investors complain about the unpredictable legislation, another area on which the Government should focus.
Moreover, he said that the National Anticorruption Directorate has done a great job, but that there still are challenges to be dealt with.
