Wind energy secures a quarter of national electric production; Romania exports approx. 600 mw
Wind turbines accounted for 23.5 percent of total national production on Wednesday morning at 11.30 am, being ranked first among the top electricity sources, while country exports approached 600 MW, according to data on the state of national energy system state, posted in real time on the Transelectrica website.
At that time, wind power generation in the wind turbines was 2,242 MW.
The coal takes the second place in the ranking of production resources with 22.2 percent (2,129 MW) and, while hydrocarbons are ranked third with 20.8 percent (1,990 MW).
Moreover, the national production stood at 9,569 MW, and the consumption at 8,989 MW, the difference of 580 MW being exported.
The National Meteorological Administration warned that on Wednesday, November 28, between 2:00hrs and 20:00hrs, the wind will reach speeds of 40-50 km / h, and in the east, the center, southern Muntenia, Dobrogea and the southern part of Moldavia the gusts of wind will generally reach 55-75 km / h.
These are the areas where most wind farms in Romania are concentrated.
