Sterian (Transgaz): The BRUA pipeline has no connection with the gas in the Black Sea
The BRUA gas pipeline will be finalised on 31 December 2019and it will have no connection with the gas in the Black Sea but it will transport resources coming from the Caspian area through the trans-Adriatic pipeline and through the vertical corridor, stated on Wednesday the general manager ofTransgaz Ion Sterian,present at Aspen Energy Summit which took place in Ploiesti.
‘On 31 December 2018 we will have the first finalised station, that in Jupa, one year earlier than the putting into value of the pipeline – 31 December 2019. On 30 July we will have the second compression station at Podisor and in October next yerar, the third compression station,that in Bibesti’ Sterian said.
According to him, the import-export capacity with Bulgaria will be 1.5 billion cubic metres per year, and that of Hungary of 1.75 billion cubic metres per year.
‘The BRUA finalisation,phase 1 has no connection with the gas in the Black Sea, it will create the third capacity of some transport volume on reverse flow of 1.5 billion cubic metres withBulgaria and 1.75 billion cubic metres with Hungary’ the Transgaz official said.
He also mentioned that the source of the gas to be transported through BRUA is from the countries in the Caspian area,Iran, Iraq and Kurdistan which will come to Europe through TAP (TransAdrian Pipeline) and further, through the vertical corridor Greece-Bulgaria-Romania.
The phase I of the BRUA project necessitates a total investment of 478.6 million euro and the deadline for putting into force and operation kick off is December 2019.
This project received financing from the European Commission of 179.3 million euro, which is 40% of the total costs.
