The energy EU dependence grew while Romania’s dependence slighlty dropped

The energy dependence grew in the European Union between 1990 and 2004 by 6%, reaching 50.5%, a Eurostat report shows. In some countries, among which Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania there is a drop in energy dependence while in countries such as the Czech Republic, Ireland, The Netherlands and Portugal the energy dependence rose considerably.
