RAAN owes the coal supplier almost 130 million lei

The Autonomous department for nuclear activities (RAAN) owes the Oltenia energy unit 128,582,978 lei for the coal supplied.

The trade union leader Alexandru Tanase stated recently that the present stock of coal, of approximately 20,000 tons, would ensure the operation of the branch Romag-Termon of RAAN only until 6 August.

‘We were promised 25 million lei to continue to keep the equipment safe. The allocation of the money is delayed too much. The stopping of the fabrication lines, especially in the case of the unit of heavy water where there are tons of sulphur hydrogen, very dangerous gas for the environment and the people must be made in a controlled way’ Tanase said.

He showed that at RAAN the current collections, made from the supply of thermal agent and the sale of thermal energy is approximately 100,000 lei/day, insufficient sum to cover the expenses with the functioning of the installations in a safe way, evaluated at 500,000 lei/day.

‘IN the meeting of the creditors of 27 July there was approved the laying off starting with 1 October 2015 of 1,525 employees and starting with 31 March 2016 – 520 employees. In the first 12 months, they will receive each 1,740 lei/month as monthly salary, and after this period, for another 12 months 1,200 lei each. If the authorities will observe these conventions, we will see. The issue which interests us at the highest level is the closure on 31 August of the industrial platform of RAAN which must be staggered to avoid risks of accidents’ Tanase added.

IN the context, he stated that he is optimistic and ‘ the governors will rationalise and will not create social problems and they will not endanger the life and health of the population in the localities surrounding the unit for heavy water Romag-Prod and the transborderly areas’.
