PM Victor Ponta explains the non-collection of the money from KazMunai Gaz
The state did not collect the money,one year after the adoption of the memorandum of understanding with KazMunaiGaz, the sum of 200 million dollars for shares Rompetrol,the premier Victor Ponta explaining that the ‘procedure’ was not finalised as the civil servants worry about signing papers.
"Nu s-a finalizat procedura de vânzare ?i de realizare a fondului de investi?ii de un miliard de dolari. Nu a vrut nimeni s? semneze nicio hârtie, niciun func?ionar, c? au zis c? B?sescu le face dosare", a spus Ponta la postul B1 TV.
‘The procedure of selling and the investment fund set up of one billion dollars were not finalised. Nobody wanted to sign any paper, no civil servant as they said that Basescu would send them to the tribunal’ Ponta said at B1Tv.
Asked what the reason for these civil servants might be to worry, if they obey the law, the premier said that it was very difficult to impose something to a civil servant.At the same time,Ponta said that he would not agree to ‘ sign the procedure’until all guarantees connected to the constitution of the investment fund of one billion dollars.
At the beginning of last year, the government adopted a decision which adopts the memorandum of agreement with KazMunaiGaz.According to the memorandum,the state would haveto cash 200 million dollars through the repayment by the state company KazMunaiGaz in Kazahstan of a package of 26.69% of the shares of Rompetrol Rafinare.
At the same time,KazMunai Gaz, the majority shareholder of Rompetrol promises in the document to set up a fund of one billion dollars to be invested in projects in the domain of energy in an interval of seven years.
In December 2014, Traian Basescu stated that in his position as president,that until then there was not collected the debt of 200 million dollars from Rompetrol and no investment fund of one billion euro was set up, he mentioning that premier Ponta is responsible especially as he warned him.
