GDF SUEZ Energy Romania invests 80 million euros in 2012 in wind power plant in Baragan
GDF SUEZ Energy Romania will invest about 80 million euros by the end of 2012 in the wind power plant at Gemenele, Braila County (eastern Romania), Acquisitions and General Business Director Frederic Bellon told a press conference on Thursday.
'The investments in 2012 suppose investments in buildings, in the car fleet, in the IT system, and exceptionally this year we have a large investment in the Baragan area, where we are developing a wind power plant in order to become electricity producers. The power plant will be completed at the end of this year and the total investment amounts to approximately 80 million euros,' Frederic Bellon said.
The installed production capacity of the wind power plant will stand at 48 MW, according to the company.
The investments Distributie Sud Retele for 2012 amount to 175 million lei (about 39.246 million euros).
GDF SUEZ Energy Romania, a branch of GDF SUEZ Group, is one of the largest gas providers in Romania, having 1.4 million customers. In 2009, GDF SUEZ Romania entered the electricity supply market for business customers.
Distrigaz Sud Retele, the distribution branch of GDF SUEZ Energy Romania, was established in March 2008, following the dissociation of the trading activity from that of distribution. Distrigaz Sud Retele serves 18 counties in southern Romania and the Municipality of Bucharest and manages a distribution network of about 17,000 km.
