Economy Minister and French Ambassador plan to relaunch mixed working group for energy
Minister of Economy Varujan Vosganian talked to French Ambassador in Bucharest Philippe Gustin on Monday about the relaunch in 2013 of the mixed working group on energy matters, to identify the palpable cooperation opportunities, reads a release of the Ministry of Economy sent on Tuesday.
During the dialogue with the French diplomat, Minister Varujan Vosganian stressed Romanian Government's determination to provide the predictability of the business and investment milieu guaranteeing a political and legal stability.
Both the Romanian and French agreed upon the development of industrial partnerships in common interest areas, such as energy, car industry, railway, aeronautics, defence, telecom, IT systems. The French companies have a major presence on the Romanian market in the fields of energy, car industry, agriculture, health.
During the discussions, the Romanian Economy Minister told Ambassador Philippe Gustin about the measures taken to conclude the process of privatization of the major companies, as the state is to retain minority shares in the strategic areas.
On this occasion, the two officials appreciated the exceptional bilateral economic reports, as 2011 represented a record in the Romanian-French trade exchange, with an 11.07 percent increase compared to the previous year.
The measures to create some competitiveness pillars in various regions of the country were also highlighted.
France is still the third trade partner of Romania. There are about 3,000 companies active in Romania with French capital, half of which are in the capital city.
