Chinese producer Sinover Wind Group wants to invest in wind turbine plant in Romania
The major Chinese producer of wind turbines and the second in the world, Sinovel Wind Group, aims to invest in Romania in building wind farms, but also in a wind turbine plant, announced the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bucharest (CCIB).
Bulgaria, Turkey and Romania were initially taken into consideration for this new production facility, but Romania became the first option for Sinovel. The Chinese group currently operates two medium capacity projects in Romania.
According to CCIB, a mission of the Department of International Affairs of the Chinese group Sinovel recently visited Faur company in Bucharest, member of the Chamber of Commerce, and held talks with the company management to create some projects in the energy area together with the Bucharest company.
'The Bucharest Chamber supported in 2011 the plans of the Chinese group to develop in Eastern Europe. In order to make Sinovel projects operational, there were some meetings between the members of the group management, CCIB president Sorin Dumitru, and president of the Commerce Section of CCIB Mihai Andritoiu, during which the advantages posed by Romania in the green energy area were highlighted,' reads the Chamber release.
CCIB have placed a special interest in the relation with China, organizing many economic missions and business forums with Chinese partners, developing cooperation relations on the Chinese market. Among these there are the visits paid to China National Electric Engineering Group management, a company extracting coal and producing power, by the management of Doicesti thermal power plant and Electrocentrale Turceni branch.
According to data provided last year by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Romania Huo Yuzhen, the bilateral exchanges between the Republic of China and Romania amounted to 4.4 billion dollars in 2011, a 17 percent increase compared to 2010. China's imports from Romania went up by 25.5 percent and the Chinese investments amount to 400 million USD.
