Turnover in motor vehicle, motorcycle trade decreases by 5.2pct in 2012
The turnover in motor vehicle and motorcycle trade decreased in 2012 compared to the previous year, both in unadjusted terms and in terms adjusted for the number of business days and seasonality, by 5.2 percent and 4.6 percent respectively, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS) .
The turnover of market services provided to population went down last year compared to 2011, both in unadjusted terms, by 0.7 percent, and in terms adjusted for the number of business days and seasonality, by 0.9 percent.
The activity of market services for population, in unadjusted terms, in 2012 recorded a turnover by 0.7 percent lower than in 2011, derived from gambling activities and other recreational activities (-4.5 percent) and hotel and restaurant-related activities (-0.8 percent). Increases were recorded in the operations of travel agencies and tour operators (+23.8 percent), washing, cleaning and dyeing of textile and furs (+8.4 percent), hairdressing and other cosmetic activities (+5.3 percent).
The activity of market services for population, in terms adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality, recorded in 2012 a turnover by 0.9 percent lower compared to 2011.
According to the INS, the information made public come from a statistical survey of selective type. The selection base of the sample provides representativeness calculated based on the turnover of 93.3 percent of the total active units. The data were collected from some 1,300 business operators. The maximum admissible error of the estimates is plus or minus 3 percent. The data are provisional and can be revised periodically based on retroactive rectifications made by the business operators in the sample.
