Trade: Black Friday 2017: online transactions , more than 160 million lei
More than 260,000 online transactions were made in Romania on Black Friday 2017, worth more than 160 million lei, by 50 percent more than in the same period last year, shows data released by a provider of online payment services.
At this year's Black Friday shopping bonanza, the golden minute struck between 7:03 and 7:04, with a record high of 922 deals per minute, by 84 percent more than last year.
According to PayU payment processor, the average shopping cart value was in excess of 600 lei and the average value of the shopping cart paid by installment card was 913 lei, 75 percent more than the average value of a shopping cart paid for by other instruments. In the PayU Romania system, three out of 10 online buyers have paid using a non-interest installment card.
As for the category of products preferred by Romanian online shoppers, statistics show that this year too IT & C products topped the buyers' preferences, followed by Fashion and eTail (furniture, decorations, toys, books , food, cosmetics, wines and others) products.
The biggest online transaction worth 37,400 lei was performed around 18:00 hrs for the purchase of a car. The deals that came second and third stood at 36,000 lei and 35,000 lei plus, respectively, both for jewelry.
