Tourism: Sibiu to be advertised at ITB Berlin 2014 travel trade show
Romania's Sibiu City will be promoted at the ITB Berlin 2014 travel trade show, March 5-9, according to Sibiu Mayor Klaus Iohannis.
'The fact that we participate in the most important national and international travel trade shows is one of the very important elements of our strategy for advertising Sibiu. The results after these participations are hard to calculate, but, of course, the fact that Sibiu participates in these events represents an occasion for visitors to learn about us and find out more details about the city,' Iohannis told a press conference on Thursday.
Present at ITB Berlin 2014, besides officials of the Sibiu mayoralty, will also be organisers of the Sibiu Christmas Fair. The Sibiu Christmas Fair is one of the most important cultural events taking place in the central Romanian city in the winter season. Moreover, there will also be a team from the office that coordinates the Fortified Churches and numerous tour operators, which means the offering will cover in fact the entire South Transylvania region.
The representatives of the Sibiu City will distribute promotional materials at the stand presenting the cultural offerings of Sibiu, the old city and travel landmarks of the area, as well as accommodation and transport facilities. More than 1,000 materials - leaflets, maps and presentation materials of the accommodation units and restaurants - will be distributed to the visitors and representatives of the tour operators interested in what Sibiu has to offer.
