Telecom.IT : Over 1500 firms set up in IT and communications in first quarter
In the first months of the year the Romanians set up 1519 firms in the IT and communications fields, similar to 2011, according to data offered by the Trade Registrar. The number of companies launched in the first quarter of the last 4 years has been relatively stable, around 1500-1600 companies.
Between January and March 2010 alone the Romanians launched more businesses in IT&C – 1706, which is surprising considering that quarter 1 of 2010 was the weakest for the number of companies launched (28091). On the other hand, the best period for the number of setup companies were the first months of 2012, when 43,328 firms were opened. The first quarter was better than January-March 2008 when Romania was in full economic swing and the business environment was not affected by the crisis. 39594 companies , of which 1531 in communications, were launched.
In the first three months of 2012 most companies set up (about 15,500) were in fields like agriculture and fishing, an area of impressive evolution compared to the previous year (eight times more companies registered compared to 2008). The field of trade, machine and motorcycle repairs and professional, scientific and technical activities follow.
