Real estate : Prices reach deadlock; single room apartments get cheaper
The prices of houses in Bucharest have remained constant in the first four months of the year except for one and two-room apartments which recorded a 2-3% drop, according to data presented by anunturiparticulari.ro.
Following the period of abrupt crisis, when prices of apartments dropped every 30 days, 2012 seems to be the year of stagnation and stability in the real estate market.
The average price of one room apartments varied around 36,000 euro in April, with a -3% variation compared to the same period of 2011, but without considerable changes compared to March.
Two-room apartments remained at the threshold of 56,600 euro, 2% higher than in April 2011, but preserving the same values as in March 2012. Compared to the beginning of the year, prices requested by owners for two room apartments suffered a slight drop below 2%, according to the quoted site.
For a three- room apartment owners requested 79,400 euro slightly more than in March and 2% less than in 2011.
“Even in the case of four room apartments we can speak about stability. The average price was about 104,900 euro in April, a level similar to April 2011 and slightly higher than in March 2012, the ration registering a variation of +4%,” the site mentions.
