Telecom.IT: Minister Dan Nica: e-Romania project will be set in motion early in November

The e-Romania project will be set in motion at the beginning of November, after a series of security tests, while he hopes that Romania's Digital Agenda could be promoted through a Government Decision / HG / towards the end of next month, said on Wednesday the Minister for the Information Society, Dan Nica, present at the Future Communities - Open Innovation Fair 2013, organized at the National Library of Romania.

'Last year we had to adopt 15 laws, including the Electronic Commerce Law, Digital Signature Law, Law on personal data, Law on Inter-operability, Law on Electronic Purchases. This evolution of the market can not be achieved unless we understand a few basic elements : We are all part of the European market, the evolution must be one by which this market to behave as a whole. The e-Romania project will finally be ready and put into operation after safety checks in early November', Nica said.

According to the minister, Romania's Digital Agenda could be promoted by a Government Decision at the end of November, after the response of the European Commission.

e-Romania is a Romanian Government program whose realization requires the computerization and networking of all systems of public services. The purpose of the program will be to simplify the administrative procedures and a cut of red tape, reduction of costs and streamlining the public administration, as well as a more efficient governance.

The project is part of the Digital Romania National Strategy - e-Strategy for an Informational Society , which comprises 14 sections, including the National Broadband Strategy, National Strategy for Transition to Digital Television, Minimal Public Administration and National Strategy for Universal Service .

Vice President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Digital Agenda Neelie Kroes, together with European Commissioner for Agriculture, Dacian Ciolos, and Dan Nica, Minister for Information Society, attended, on Wednesday, the opening of the first exhibition of innovation through technology for developing communities - Future Communities - Open Innovation Fair 2013 - organized at the National Library of Romania from October 30 through November 1.
