Study: Fields in which hiring new staff  dropped are transports, tourism and HoReCa

While in previous months employees were looking for jobs starting from criteria like field of activity or employing company, in March most searches on Bestjobs.ro were for remote jobs or work from home jobs, while fields in which new staff employment dropped significantly are transports, tourism and HoReCa (Hotel,Restaurant,Café), on the background of coronavirus pandemics.

“In March most searches on Bestjobs website were for remote or work from home jobs, with a total volume of over 250,000 searches. Employees from the financial, transports or engineering fields were also active in looking for a new job, with a total search volume of 80,000,”the company shows.

In March, there was a drop of interest for a new job from candidates in the medical& pharma field. They made 20% fewer job searches in this field compared to February 2020.

On the other hand, fields where employing new personnel dropped significantly during the coronavirus epidemics are transports and HoReCa, with minus 25% in March alone. The number of jobs promoted in the white collar category was relatively stable compared to the previous period.

Huawei Technologies, Enel and Vodafone attracted most candidates in March with about 6,000 applicants.
