Pathological drought persists in Moldova, Dobrogea and the largest part of Muntenia
Pathological drought will persist in Moldova, Dobrogea and most of Muntenia, on the background of low humidity content in the culture of autumn wheat, according to the agro- meteorological prognosis valid until April 10, published by ANM.
“The water content for soil depth of 0-100 cm, in the autumn wheat will be in low and very low limits, pathological drought being moderate, strong and extreme in Moldova, Dobrogea, most of Muntenia, locally in north-western Banat, south, north-east and centre Transylvania,south and south western Muntenia, the soil humidity reserve will have satisfactory values,”meteorologists say.
As for the state of agricultural cultures, meteorological conditions will determine normal growth and development rates for field and tree species while in eastern Transylvania and northern Moldova vegetative processes will be slightly slowed down.
Spring cultures will have incipient vegetation stages. Sunflower, sugar beet and corn will be prepared for germination and for sowing works.
At general level, season farming works will be made in normal conditions, throughout the country.
Local rains, accompanied by wind intensification will be present on the whole farm land.
