LTE Standard (Long Term Evolution) also called 4G was proposed for the first time in 2004 by Japanese operator NTT DoCoMO as a starting point for the development of an international standard for mobile phone networks of the fourth generation. The new standard is an evolution of the present UMTS technology, widely used for the implementation of 3G networks and will allow transfer speeds up to 100 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload.
