Romanians will have average incomes up to 425 euro for 2013 holidays

The Romanians will allocate average incomes up to 425 euro per person for 2013 holidays, representatives of Eurolines in Romania said on Thursday at a press conference. “As for exotic destinations, the Romanians preferred the Dominican Republic and Thailand in 2012. For Thailand alone, about 8,000 Romanians bought holidays in the first 11 months of 2012. Greece, Turkey and Spain are still in the top of preferences for 2013. While for Greece prices will be the same as in 2012, for Turkey they will grow, said Dragos Anastasiu, the president of Eurolines Romania.

To attract foreign tourists, Romania can count on two products – circuits in Transylvania and city breaks in Bucharest and Sibiu.

In 2012, Eurolines , the representative of TUI in Romania brought about 1,000 German tourists to the Romanian littoral, while the Bulgarians attracted 25,000 Germans.“German tourists do not see Romania, they know nothing about Romania, it is a black spot. They have not heard anything, either good or bad. Our reality without highways, green areas, but with stray dogs, is better than the perception of people who come to Romania,” said Dragos Anastasiu.

Since the fall of 2012 Romania has disappeared from TUI catalogs, but remained in the online offer. According to Anastasiu, that is due to the fact that the German tour operator reduced the volume of printed offers by 30%. Although we are in the online TUI offer, the Germans prefer printed matters, only 20% of them buy online offers, compared to the Scandinavians who buy 70% of tourist packages online.“Foreign tour operators, especially those from Germany, want hotels to have family rooms, a staff speaking foreign languages, and nice furniture,” Anastasiu said.

The Eurolines group foresees the conclusion of 2012 with a business figure of 243 million lei compared to 183.2 million lei in 2011.
