Romania to open two centers for promotion of wines and food products in Germany

Romanian wines and food products will be promoted on the German market with support from the Department of Foreign Trade in the Ministry of Economy, which plans to open, this year, two such promotion centers in the cities of Ulm and Munich.

'We plan to open in Ulm, with support of the largest distributor and contractor of wines in Germany, which trades over 2,200 varieties, a regional center to promote the Romanian wines. In June, preceding the opening of this center, together with the Danube Office, we have available some spaces for the promotion and wine tasting of Romanian wines. Moreover, we have established in a discussion, in November, with the Mayor of Ulm, that we are to organize a Romanian week, as well', Deputy Director General in Ministry of Economy Cristian Cutas, present at Biofach 2013, told AGERPRES.

At the same time, the Romanian producers will be able to open outlets in markets in the cities of Stuttgart and Ulm, where they will benefit from spaces at promotional prices.Cristian Cutas mentioned that, in the city of Munich, there are plans to open a regional center for the promotion of the Romanian food products, but based on a newer German concept.

'We plan to open a regional center in Munich for promoting Romanian agri-food products, but based on a newer German concept, where one can buy the product, can serve various menus made from that product and can take it away. It's a concept that has greatly expanded over the last three years in Germany ', Ministry of Economy representative stressed.

'With support from the Association of Saxons in Transylvania we want to approach Saxons, owners of guest houses and hotels, to distribute traditional Romanian products. More than once I was asked by a lady of German origin where to go to bring from Romania pickles, plum brandy and cheese. And so the idea came to me ', Cutas explained.
