Real estate: Eurostat: Romania is among the states where the prices of dwellings recorded the most significant decreases

The prices of dwellings rose by 0.9% in the Eurozone and in the European Union these increased by 1.4% in Q2 2014 from Q1. 

Romania is, however, among the states where the prices of dwellings recorded the most significant decreases, of minus 1.3%, second only to Slovenia, where prices fell by 2.6%, according to the data released on Thursday by the European Statistics Office, Eurostat. 

In the case of Romania, the decrease in these prices in Q2 from Q1 comes after an increase of 0.6% in the first three months of this year compared to the last quarter of last year. 

With a decline by 3.8%, Romania is among the EU states where the prices of dwellings have recorded the largest decreases also year on year, in Q2 2014. Compared to the same period of last year, lower housing prices than in Romania were in Slovenia, minus 9 8%, and in Italy, minus 4.8%. In the Eurozone, the prices of dwellings remained stable and in the EU these went up by 1.7%.
