Real Estate: Colliers International Romania doubles its customer portfolio
Colliers International Romania realtor increased its customer portfolio for property management services by 100 percent in the first six months of 2012, compared with late 2011, according to a press release issued by the company.
The company says the increase materialised in a doubling of projects from late 2011.
'The main issue facing property developers in Romania is the tenants leaving the buildings, which shows signs of worsening in the current economic climate. In order for a real estate project to succeed on the market, it takes a good property manager that will be neutral toward the tenants, has solid market knowledge and can negotiate with and relate to customers,' says Colliers International Romania Managing Director Ilinca Paun.
Started in early 2011, Collier Romania's Property Manage Department is currently working on 11 projects in Bucharest and around the country, providing consultancy and property management services and advising on the green certification of buildings.
The current aggregate area for which Colliers is providing property management services is standing at 100,000 square metres, double the area in late 2011. The company's future development strategy is aimed at consolidating its expertise on office, retail and industrial property segments.
'Starting from the Colliers' local and international expertise, we are focusing on objectives similar to Colliers' on developed European markets, such as a rent collection rate of 98 percent in the first days of the month and reducing energy consumption by at least 25 percent in the case of ecologically certified buildings. We are convinced that the impact will increase in the future as Romania is getting in line with the European initiatives that spur sustainable construction, such as the recent policy adopted in Cluj County to cut property taxes on owners of ecologically certified property,' Head of the Property Management Department of Colliers International Romania Stefania Baldovinescu explains.
Colliers International, a subsidiary of FirstService Corporation, is a world leader in real estate consultancy, with more than 12,500 specialists working in 500 offices in 61 countries.
