Project of ferry line between Romania, Georgia, under authorities' focus
The rejuvenation of the Romania - Georgia ferry line project has been analyzed in the meeting between
Romanian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ovidiu Ioan Silaghi and Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vera Kobalia.
According to a relevant ministry's Thursday press release, the Georgian side has informed the Romanian authorities that it has identified potential private investors interested in this project.
The sides have agreed upon the necessity to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for unfolding cargo transport by ro-ro ships and ferries, as well as the necessary short-term measures, with the discussions on this topic to continue.
At the end of the meeting, the two officials appreciated the excellent cooperation in bilateral relations, underscoring, at the same time, that the aspects agreed upon will have an essential role in facilitating transport cooperation for intensifying the exchange of goods between the two states.
