2009 sales of new cars plummeted 54% to their lowest level since 2003 to 147,962 cars from 324,033 units a year earlier, according to data provided by the Association of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (APIA). For 2010, APIA expects 130,000 new vehicle registrations in 2010, of which 115,000 for new passenger cars.
