One out of three Romanians made online purchases at least once
A Romanian out of three made at least one purchase online and made on the average, 8.2 purchases in 2015, according to a press release of organizers of Meet Magento Romania conferences.
“The value of online trade in Romania has grown from 1.1 billion euros in 2014 to over 1.4 billion euros in 2015. Eleven million Romanians have Internet access and of them, 6.7 millions purchased online products at least once. Although most of them prefer to do online shopping from their desktops, eCommerce generated from mobile phones recorded a significant increase in 2015 and kept on growing this year - over 50% of the traffic recorded by the biggest online retailers was generated by a mobile device. A Romanian made an average of 8.2 purchases online in 2015, on the rise compared for 2013, when the average rate was 7.9 online purchases”, the document shows.
According to it, last year, on Black Friday, Romanians bought things of 100 million euros.
There are about 5000 active online traders in Romania at present.
The third edition of Meet Magento Romania gathers over October 28-29 in Cluj Napoca, big IT players and online traders in a debate on the increase of eCommerce market.
