Infrastructure: Georgia, Romania seek to restore ferry service
Georgia and Romania support the restoration of ferry service between the two countries.
First Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia David Zalkaliani and State Secretary for Strategic Affairs at the Romanian Foreign Ministry Bogdan Aurescu discussed the issues of cooperation between the two countries in various spheres.
The important issues of the bilateral cooperation on economic, energy and transport projects were discussed, Georgian Foreign Ministry reported.
The importance of restoration of the ferry service between Batumi-Konstantsa and Poti-Konstantsa, as well as the operation of a freight transport corridor between the Black Sea and Caspian Sea was especially emphasized.
"During the consultations we discussed the main directions of Georgian-Romanian relations. We have very intensive relations and serious progress. We discussed very important infrastructure projects that are implemented in association with the projects that link the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. We also touched upon the improvement of bilateral economic relations, enhancing of trade relations and the most important, the challenges that Georgia faces in 2014," Zalkaliani said.
