Infrastructure: 17.5 million euro project to modernize Sulina port
According to a press release of Tulcea County Council, the contract financing the modernization of Sulina port, Perimeter 1 was signed. The project benefits from European financing of 17.5 million euros through Danube Delta ITI Mechanism, Large Infrastructure Operational Program.
At present, Sulina port infrastructure has major deteriorations which create risks and difficulties during mooring maneuvers and loading/unloading operations.
Tulcea County Council pointed out that the project target is to modernize and develop port infrastructure which serves the traffic of goods ships in order to increase the efficiency and safety of port operations. The implementation of the project will lead to the increase by 70,000 tons/year of the quantity of goods operated in Romanian ports annually.
