Healthcare: Projects of 47 million euros from SEE and Norwegian funds for Romanian health system
Eight projects for improving prevention and reducing inequalities in the Romanian health system will be financed with funds of 47 million euros through SEE and Norwegian grants, according to a press release of the Ministry for European Funds (MFE).
The program “European challenges in public health”, financed by SEE grants 2014-2021, gathered on Thursday several representatives of authorities in charge of development and finding new solutions to back the Romanian health system.
Ana Maria Busoniu, a secretary of state in MFE, the coordinator of this financial instrument, explained that the financing program will be implemented by 8 predefined or selected projects, to be launched in December 2019.
“Financial allocation has in view to strengthen the prevention and reduction of inequalities in the health system: preventing and treating infectious diseases, improving the health of vulnerable groups (children, elderly people) by ensuring primary and community medical assistance services, by ensuring access to preventive health services in obstetrics – gynecology, nutrition, pediatric oncology,mental health for children, development of medical registers, treating other diseases. Another objective is fighting hospital infections and reducing antibiotic consumption,” said the MFE representative.
