Healthcare: Health ministry allots 86,156,000 lei for HIV/AIDS Program in last budget revision

The Health Ministry has allotted 86,156,000 lei for the ongoing National Program for prevention, supervision and control of the HIV/AIDS infection, in the last budget revision, from the funds aimed at the health sector. (1 euro = 4.4 lei)

According to a press release of the ministry, of this sum 19 million lei were already transferred to decentralized healthcare units.

'The other funds destined for the treatment of patients in healthcare units in the subordination of the Health Ministry are to be transferred this week after receiving approvals from the Ministry of Finances', the release shows.

The National Union of Organizations of Persons Affected by HIV/AIDS states that for over a week the 2000 patients that were receiving treatment at the Matei Bals National Infectious Disease Institute in Bucharest were no longer being given their necessary medications.
