Dacia car sales went up last month by 3.9pct in Europe
Dacia car sales went up last month by 3.9pct in Europe (EU plus EFTA), but the market share of the Romanian car maker decreased to 2.8pct from 3.1 pct in June 2014, according to the statistics released on Thursday by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
Dacia car registrations in Europe amounted in June to 39,790 units, up from the similar period in 2014 (38,279 vehicles).
French car makers Renault and PSA Peugeot Citroen reported higher sales in June by 5pct and 12.8pct respectively, while the U.S. group Ford saw a 16 pct advance.
German automakers Volkswagen and Daimler last month recorded an advance in sales by 17.2pct and 22.2 respectively.
BMW and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV sales rose in June by 15.2pct and 17.7pct respectively.
In H1, Dacia sales saw a 6.4pct rise in Europe, but the market share of this automaker decreased to 2.8pct from 2.9pct in January - June 2014.
Dacia car registrations in Europe in H1 2015 stood at 208,247 units, on the rise compared to the similar period in 2014 (195,639 vehicles).
Volkswagen and Daimler sales increased by 7.4pct and 15.3pct, respectively, while the deliveries of French groups Renault and PSA Peugeot Citroen rose by 9.2pct and 3.6pct respectively.
The statistics refer to the car markets in 29 European states, of which 26 are EU ones, without Malta, and three are members of the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA) - Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.
