Cars: Second hand car imports exploded in July
Second hand car imports reached in July the highest level of the past three years, with an overall volume of 26,800 units, on the rise by 72% compared to the similar period of 2012, according to data supplied by DRPCIV. The Association of Car Producers and Importers estimated last month that the second hand car import increase rate would drop once the environment stamp came into force in March.
“Second hand car imports can hardly be kept under control in Romania as they are not applied the right taxes. When taxes for Euro 3 and 4 cars rose clients became interested in Euro 1 and 2 cars,” said Nicolae Sorescu, the director of Radacini group including dealers for Opel, Chevrolet, Citroen, Suzuki and Mazda.
