Agriculture: The National Fair of Honey, between 4-6 September on the Baneasca bee platform
Over 100 beekeepers will bring to the Bucharest inhabitants honey and bee produce from all the parts of the country, at the autumn edition of the National Fair of Honey, event produced by the Association of Beekeepers of Romania(ACA) on the bee platform of Baneasa, between 4-6 September 2015.The National Fair of Honey has become a tradition event, dedicated to consumers of bee produce in Bucharest.
The exibits presented at the 13th edition of the fair will be very diversified, from bee produce obtained directly from the beehive to bee produce conditioned or other derived produce from bee produce – nutritious supplements, drugs, cosmetics, etc.The approximately 100 presenters, beekeepers and specialised companies will display their produce in a very diversified range:from bee produce obtained directly from the beehive to bee produce conditioned or other produce derived from bee produce – nutitritious supplements, drugs, cosmetics, etc.
At the same time, this fair will be beneficial to the beekeepers, as products dedicated to them will be also presented – beehives, components, equipment and other bee equipment, produce for the health of bees, products for nutrition, books on the field, etc.
The National Fair of Honey will open on Friday 4 September 2015, 10:00.
According to the data of the Association of the Beekeepers of Romania (ACA), the production of honey of 2015 will be lower on average by almost 30% as compared to the annual average of 22,000 – 24,000tons, due to the drought and the depopulation of the bee families.
Romania is in the top of the honey producers on the fourth place in Europe. The country has, at present, 1.47 million bee families and has almost 40,000 beekeepers at national level, over 60% of them being members of the Association of the Beekeepers in Romania, with a number of 900,000 bee families.
ACA is an association set up in 1958,the only with national coverage, which has 40 county branches and commercial companies for the supply of products for beekeepers with all equipments and necessary genetic material.
